METALCORE CONCERT EVENT COORDINATION CONTRACT – Ontario, Canada

Rescue provides behavior change marketing services (or "social marketing") to government, non-profit and corporate organizations. Rescue's current work focuses on tobacco, obesity, violence and alcohol prevention; the promotion of exercise, fresh foods and after school programs; and other products and services that promote healthy living. Most of Rescue's behavior change campaigns focus on teens (13 - 17) and young adults (18 - 26), resulting in unrivaled experience in adolescent behavior change campaigns.

Rescue is seeking an Events Contractor experienced in planning and promoting metalcore shows/concerts to teens in Southern Ontario to plan, promote and execute a metalcore show event approximately six times a year. Metalcore events would be designed to reach the local alt-rock, indie, hardcore, metal and/or emo subcultures.

Contract Description:

This is an ideal contract for anyone who enjoys the local music scene and wants to work with metalcore events. The contractor will work with a street team, bands, venues, promoters and anyone else needed to create a successful show and deliver a positive health message.

Rescue is a U.S.-based behavior change marketing agency working to promote a tobacco-free lifestyle through fully-branded events that target teens (ages 13-18) in the local music scene in Southern Ontario. The strategy, called Uprise, focuses on metalcore shows, street promotions, social media, branded clothing, and other scene-specific tactics.

Event Coordination Contract Details:

  • Recruit and manage street team members and ensure all duties are completed;
  • Supervise street team members and photographer onsite;
  • Ensure proper event protocol and contact card validity;
  • Submit collected contact card data and event information to Uprise Brand Manager after each event;
  • Set up and manage Uprise table at every event;
  • Accurately represent the brand both at events and offsite.

Contractor Requirements:

Minimum Age:
Must be 18 y/o or older

Environment:
Must have reliable transportation, and computer and Internet access at home. Must be available to perform contract duties during non-traditional hours such as late nights and weekends when events are occurring. All business-related environments are tobacco-free.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to manually lift up to 40 pounds from the floor to table height and back to the floor, and work standing for 4-7 hours.

Required Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the metalcore music scene.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong personal networks within the local metalcore music scene in Southern Ontario;
  • Experience planning and promoting events;
  • Experience supervising and managing a street team;
  • Experience with online promotions and social networking;
  • Experience working with youth ages 13-18.

Location:
Southern Ontario region, including: Guelph, Toronto, Hamilton, London, and surrounding areas.

Compensation/Status:
Events Contractor will be paid a flat fee for services rendered of $250 per event plus an additional flat fee based on direct mail card collection. There will be six events held in 2016. Contractor must be registered as a sole proprietor.
