Rescue provides behavior change marketing services (or "social marketing") to government, non-profit and corporate organizations. Rescue's current work focuses on tobacco, obesity, violence and alcohol prevention; the promotion of exercise, fresh foods and after school programs; and other products and services that promote healthy living. Most of Rescue's behavior change campaigns focus on teens (13 - 17) and young adults (18 - 26), resulting in unrivaled experience in adolescent behavior change campaigns.

Rescue is a full-service agency, providing research, strategy, creative, production, web, traditional media, social media, policy change, youth engagement and experiential marketing services to clients in over a dozen states and provinces, as well as to federal government agencies.

Rescue is seeking an independent contractor to coordinate survey data collection at local bars and nightclubs in Duluth, MN on a weekly basis for approximately 6 to 8 weeks (23 nights). This Research Coordination Contractor will recruit and supervise a local team of three to five surveyors to survey 200 young adults (18-26 year olds) at local bars and nightclubs.

Contract Description:
The Research Coordination Contractor is responsible for managing survey-based data collection at local bars and nightclubs. This Contractor will recruit and supervise a local team of 3-5 surveyors to collect 200 surveys from teens (18-26 year olds).

This is an ideal contract for a self-starter who enjoys networking and the local nightlife scene in Duluth, MN. The Contractor will work with nightclub and bar management to gain access to the venues to conduct surveying. The ideal contractor must be available to work non-traditional hours such as late nights and weekends (usually between 10PM and 1AM) based on a randomized schedule.

Research Coordination Contractor Obligations:
• Recruit and manage the team of surveyors and ensure all data is properly collected;
• Supervise surveyors onsite as required by the research schedule;
• Ensure proper data collection protocol and data validity;
• Submit collected surveys and research tracking sheets to Jr. Research Associate on a weekly basis;
• Adhere to the data collection schedule and provide nightly status reports to the Jr. Research Associate;
• Manage and protect Rescue’s proprietary research instrument.

Contractor Requirements:

Required Qualifications:
Managerial, Field Marketing, In-Person Data Collection or Research (Private, Gov, Academic).

Education Level:
Associates degree or minimum of two years of college education.

Minimum Age:
Must be 21 y/o or older

Environment:
Must have reliable transportation, and computer and Internet access at home. Must be available to work non-traditional hours such as late nights and weekends. All business-related environments are tobacco-free.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to manually lift up to 40 pounds from the floor to table height and back to the floor, and work standing for 4-6 hours.

Required Skills:
• Experience supervising and managing a small team;
• Knowledge of local bar and nightclub scene;
• Experience using MS Office;
• Organized and can work independently;
• Strong supervisory skills;
• Strong communication skills.

Desired Skills:
• Data collection, field marketing or research experience;
• Strong networking background;
• Experience working with venue management;
• Non-tobacco-use is highly preferred because we only have tobacco-free environments and also to be consistent with our tobacco prevention campaign goals.

Compensation/Status:
Independent Contractor, up to $500. Research Coordination Contractor will be compensated according to their fulfillment of milestones over the course the research project. Surveyors will be compensated based on the number of valid surveys submitted. Costs associated with going out for surveying are not covered in this contract.
