Andrew Ermlick, M.A.

Cultural Scientist since 2007

117

Andrew Ermlick has cultivated a range of interests concerning the shaping of culture by the growing fold(over) of mass media, the glitz and gore ratings hunt of broken glass journalism, and the agenda-setting interests of government press. His unique writing and research fuses intellectual design with creative surge, and is always underpinned with healthy self-reflexivity. At Rescue, Andrew’s perspective, field research, and cultural analysis help pinpoint the appropriate target prime for a cultural intervention.

With a Master’s Degree in Media Philosophy from Ohio University, and several anthropological immersions across the world, Andrew has developed a multi-angled framework from which to pull. Andrew has filmed documentaries, designed cardiovascular research protocol, and tutored elementary youth. His short-fiction contributions to a Cleveland-based magazine are currently being turned into student films, as a part of class curriculum at Ohio University.

At RSCG, Andrew serves as the engineer for onsite cultural research. He designs and facilitates focus groups, interviews, and psycho-social activities with adults, young adults, and teenagers across the country. Upon analyses, Andrew’s findings shape the development and direction of each Social Brand. He is also the Editor of SocialBranding.com and represents RescueSCG at national conferences.
