Sr. Research Associate since 2013

313

Carolyn is a recent graduate of The George Washington University in Washington, DC, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in public health and a Master of Public Health degree in epidemiology. Carolyn discovered epidemiology and public health research while still in high school, and knew the field would be a great fit for her skills and interest in health. Volunteer activities at GWU introduced her to the enormous impact of cultural and social environments on health, and shaped her interest in working with underserved populations and health disparities. Interning at the American Legacy Foundation provided her with opportunities to apply the research skills she learned in the classroom to tobacco control work, and demonstrated how cultural and social determinants of health are intertwined with tobacco use in many populations.

Carolyn is excited to join the Rescue SCG team, where she hopes to combine her passion for social justice with her research skills to support innovative tobacco control initiatives.
