A native of Virginia, Holley attended both college and university in her home state. She earned an Associates Degree in Education from Germanna Community College and a Bachelors Degree in Social Work with a minor in Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University. Through these varied degrees Holley built a platform of knowledge and experience both in and outside of the classroom. Through this, Holley’s passion for social justice bloomed, as did her determination to ensure positive outcomes for campaign success.

While at VCU, Holley immersed herself in the diverse communities around Richmond, primarily focusing on women’s health policy and additional significant women’s policy measures across the community, state and national levels. Holley volunteered an interned for over two years with a women’s community health provider, where she worked on two political campaigns, that gave her the opportunity to use her voice to educate the community and ensure their mobilization to increase voter turnout. Through her commitment to these multiple campaigns Holley received an award from the organization highlighting her outstanding leadership and ability to inspire and another award drawing on her commitment to social justice advocacy from the School of Social Work at VCU. Additionally, between two semesters Holley interned in Washington DC with a landmark women’s advocacy organization. Holley served as a liaison between state field organizers and administrative staff. She ensured a possible working connection that allowed the voices and concerns of the grassroots activist to be heard.

Prior to joining the Youth Engagement Team, Holley served as a case manager to provide holistic services to Veterans who are literally homeless and those at risk of losing their housing. Autonomously, she juggled multiple families at a time and provided time sensitive collaborative assistance to provide reliable connections to services to increase client stability. Holley is excited about he opportunity to support and share her experience with campaign work and community outreach with youth in Virginia. She hopes that her background will serve as a catalyst to spark their passion for positive health change across communities and throughout Virginia.
