Kathleen Thomas

Sr. Policy Campaign Associate since 2015

As a Senior Policy Campaign Associate at Rescue Social Change Group, Kathleen works out of her native state, Oklahoma, on the Free The Night campaign helping bars and clubs adopt smokefree policies.

Kathleen earned Bachelor degrees in both Psychology and Sociology from the University of Tulsa and has completed graduate coursework in Criminal Justice. Prior to joining Rescue SCG full-time, she primarily worked as a law enforcement officer while working at Free The Night community events on the weekends. After a short period of time, Kathleen realized how passionate she had become about tobacco-free establishments and decided to make a career change in order to help bar and club patrons, employees, and performers enjoy the health benefits of smokefree environments. Though her employment background is in criminal corrections, she remains an active social change volunteer working with women and LGBT rights and the stigma surrounding mental illness.

In her free time, Kathleen volunteers extensively with Oklahoma Alliance for Animals helping to reduce the number of euthanized homeless pets. Kathleen truly loves Oklahoma and is excited to be part of such an innovative company to help create positive social change in her community.
